Finding Meaning in Shabbat Prayer taught by Lon Rosenfield

We will gather on Zoom on Thursdays from 7:30-8:30pm, beginning December 5, 2024 and ending on June 12, 2025.  Our curriculum is the liturgy of Shabbat, starting with lighting the Friday night candles and ending with Havdalah.  We will discuss interpretation, significance, origins, and artistry of the prayers and their “choreography.”  Occasionally we will step back from the Siddur to see how we live our prayers with ritual: we’ll examine a Torah scroll, mezuzah, tefillin and tallit for example. The course is designed  to make you feel comfortable with the liturgy and to  experience Shabbat prayer on a new level. 
$50 course fee includes all sessions.  Zoom link is forthcoming.
